What the folks at Heist Brew Co. in Sheffield are doing is truly special. 30 taps (including 15 Heist beers), burgers, arcade consoles and one of the most beautifully designed taprooms we’ve seen (and we’ve seen a lot!) all come together to create community and some really good beer.

Tip: Keep an eye out for more Texas beer here!

We have quite the affinity for this place, and it’s not just because the burgers are as good as the beer on offer. Glenn is a consummate beer nerd, and the level of liquid always pouring here is all the proof you’ll need.

Tip: Don’t miss their incredible selection of cask, obviously.

Y’all. The excellence on this tap wall is just an extension of what is being crafted in the adjacent brewhouse. Stew is running a tight, tasty ship over on the Blackhorse Beer Mile.

Tip: You’ll always find Texas liquid to enjoy here, so if you’re hankering for some world-class Lone Star State goodness, you won’t be disappointed!

While a lot of the attention goes to the (celebrity) ownership of this pub, Tony has quietly created a space full of world-class beer, a haven for anyone looking to escape the hype and just enjoy their pint(s).

Tip: Plan for a picnic in the park over the road. It’s irresistible.

What a place. Whether you’re looking for a place to work, a place to hang out or a place to discover, you’ll be right at home here. One of the only places in central London where you’ll find the same amount of locals and tourists. And with the selection of both draught and cask being such high quality, that makes sense.

Tip: Just go there.

Southend-on-Sea | Essex | SS1 1BU

What Steve has done in Southend is truly special. A tap/fridge list to make anyone envious, a kitchen making some of the most delicious pizzas we’ve ever had (that Spicy Fajita, though) and a community of beer lovers to call it home are all great reasons to go see Steve and his crew at Craftwerk. Oh yeah, and he serves a mean Texas pint, too!

Tip: Order a pickleback. About as Texas as it gets, y’all.

This little gem is everything you want in a local: good beer served by good people at fair prices. Marius always has a great selection of world beer, too, (including fresh Kolsch, our favourite)!

Tip: Stick around for a few pints, the conversation here is as intoxicating as the beverages.
